About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Aviation Technical Writer for a remote contract position, supporting their documentation needs from Nottingham . This role involves creating, revising, and maintaining a wide range of technical documents, including manuals, procedures, and reports related to aircraft maintenance, operations, and systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong command of technical language, an understanding of aviation principles, and the ability to translate complex information into clear, concise, and accurate documentation. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit technical documentation such as maintenance manuals, operating procedures, and user guides for aviation systems.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, engineers, and maintenance personnel to gather necessary information.
• Ensure all documentation is accurate, clear, concise, and adheres to industry standards and company style guides.
• Manage document revision control and maintain an organised system for all technical publications.
• Review and update existing documentation to reflect changes in regulations, technology, or procedures.
• Format documents using appropriate software tools to ensure readability and professional presentation.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer , preferably in the aviation, aerospace, or engineering industry.
• Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a strong command of technical terminology.
• Ability to understand and interpret complex technical information and translate it for various audiences.
• Proficiency with technical writing software and document management systems.
• Familiarity with aviation maintenance and operational processes is a strong advantage.
• A degree in English, Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
