About the Role
Our client is seeking a skilled Banquet Chef to oversee the culinary operations for events hosted at their prestigious hotel in Edinburgh . This role is responsible for preparing and executing high-quality food for banquets, conferences, and private functions, ensuring consistency and excellence across all events. You will work closely with the Executive Chef and Banqueting Manager to develop menus, manage kitchen staff, control costs, and uphold the hotel's reputation for outstanding cuisine. The ideal candidate possesses a strong background in large-scale event catering and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes for banquets and events, adhering to standardized recipes and quality guidelines.
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the banquet kitchen, including staff supervision and scheduling.
- Ensure all food is prepared safely, hygienically, and to the highest presentation standards.
- Control food costs through effective inventory management, ordering, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with the Banqueting Manager and sales team to plan menus and accommodate client needs.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and organization of the banquet kitchen and equipment.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Banquet Chef , Sous Chef, or Senior Chef de Partie in a hotel or large catering venue.
- Strong knowledge of banquet cooking techniques and presentation for large groups.
- Experience in managing kitchen staff and coordinating food production for multiple events.
- Proficiency in food cost control, inventory management, and stock rotation.
- Excellent understanding of health, safety, and hygiene standards in a commercial kitchen.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
