Job Description
Responsibilities
Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs to enhance their engagement and learning outcomes Assist in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies Support students in developing social skills, emotional regulation, and coping mechanisms Promote a positive classroom environment by encouraging respectful interactions and inclusively Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external specialists to monitor student progress and adapt support plans Supervise students during lessons, breaks, and extracurricular activities to ensure safety and appropriate behaviour Assist with classroom organisation and resources to facilitate effective learning experiences Contribute to creating a nurturing atmosphere that encourages student confidence and independenceSkills
Experience working with individuals with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable Strong background in teaching or supporting children within educational settings Knowledge of special education practices and behaviour management techniques Experience working with children facing social or emotional challenges Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families from diverse backgrounds Experience working with individuals with disabilities or mental health needs is advantageous Familiarity with toddler care or early childhood development is a plus Excellent interpersonal skills combined with patience, empathy, and resilienceThis position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children requiring additional support.
