About the Role
Our client is seeking a reliable and experienced Bookkeeper to support their finance function on a part-time basis in Portsmouth . This role involves maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring that financial data is up-to-date and readily available for reporting. You will work closely with the management team, providing essential support for financial decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and organised financial records, including ledgers, journals, and invoices.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Perform bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations regularly.
- Assist with the preparation of VAT returns and other financial compliance tasks.
- Generate financial reports as required by management, such as P&L and balance sheets.
- Ensure all bookkeeping is up-to-date and compliant with accounting standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficiency with bookkeeping software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good organisational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
