About the Role
Our client is looking for a part-time Bookkeeper to support their finance function in Portsmouth . This role is ideal for an individual with strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail, responsible for maintaining accurate financial records. You will manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including processing transactions, managing bank reconciliations, and assisting with basic financial reporting. Working in a hybrid capacity, you will contribute to the financial stability of the business by ensuring all financial data is up-to-date and accurate, liaising with internal teams as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and organized financial records for the business.
- Process all incoming and outgoing payments, including invoices and expense claims.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns and other statutory filings.
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
- Manage petty cash and ensure its accurate recording.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role.
- Proficiency with bookkeeping software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
