Bookkeeper

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and experienced Bookkeeper to manage their financial records on a part-time basis, working remotely. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate financial data for the business, including managing daily transactions, bank reconciliations, and preparing financial reports. The ideal candidate will be highly organised, proficient with bookkeeping software, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers, journals, and the trial balance.
• Process all incoming and outgoing financial transactions, including invoicing, payments, and receipts.
• Perform regular bank reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements.
• Generate regular management reports, such as profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
• Liaise with accountants for year-end accounts preparation and tax submissions.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role.
• Proficiency in bookkeeping software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
• Excellent organisational skills and a high level of accuracy.
• Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines independently.
• Good communication skills for liaising with clients and external advisors.
