Bottling & Supply Planning Manager, Whisky and Spirits
Speyside, Moray | £46000 plus 10% employer pension, BUPA and excellent benefits | Full time, office based
Make every bottle happen
Every bottle of whisky and rum this business sells passes through your plan. Our client, a family-owned distiller, blender and brand owner with an award-winning portfolio sold in more than 30 markets, is looking for a Bottling & Supply Planning Manager to own bottling planning and dry goods procurement from its distillery in Speyside.
This is a role for a planner who enjoys variety. One week you will be scheduling repeat runs of the core range. The next you will be fitting a series of single cask bottlings for an overseas market into the plan, or working with the design team on the glass and packaging for a brand new product.
The business
Founded by a family with more than 50 years in the drinks industry, the business is growing. A new core range was launched from its Speyside distillery in 2026, a second distillery is under way, and its rum portfolio is expanding. It is a small, capable team where everyone has a visible impact and works closely with the owners.
What you will do
About three quarters of the role is bottling planning. Working from brand forecasts, you will monitor stock and depletions, build the bottling plan three to four months ahead, book runs with third-party bottling halls, issue bottling instructions through the ERP system, and make sure spirit, glass, closures, labels and packaging all arrive together. When priorities change, you will re-plan quickly and keep everyone informed. After each run you will review yields and reconcile stock.
The rest of the role is procurement. You will order dry goods against forecasts and buy efficiently, and act as the link between the London design team and established suppliers on new products, checking feasibility, cost and lead times.
What you will bring
You will have experience of bottling or production planning, ideally in Scotch whisky or wider spirits, and you will be confident with an ERP system and Excel. Experience of working with contract bottlers or manufacturers, buying packaging or dry goods, or using Epicor Tropos would be a real advantage. Strong planners from other drinks or FMCG manufacturing environments are also encouraged to apply. Above all, you will be organised, adaptable and a confident communicator who can keep many projects moving at once.
What you will receive
A basic salary of £46000, a 10% employer pension contribution, BUPA private medical insurance, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, life assurance at four times salary, income protection, an annual product allowance, flexible start and finish times and home working when winter weather requires.
Requirements for this role
This role requires recent, hands-on experience of production or bottling planning in a manufacturing or drinks environment, because the postholder will run the bottling plan from day one with limited supervision. The role is office based at the distillery in Speyside. Applicants must already have the right to work in the UK, as our client is unable to offer visa sponsorship for this position to confirm before advertising. The successful candidate will be asked to complete pre-employment checks, including right to work and references. We welcome applications from everyone who meets these requirements.
