About the Role
Our client is looking for a dedicated Bridge Engineer to join their expanding infrastructure division based in Birmingham . This role is integral to the design, inspection, and maintenance of vital bridge structures across the region. You will work on diverse projects, from new constructions to rehabilitation of existing assets, ensuring safety, durability, and compliance with stringent engineering standards. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to critical transportation networks and collaborate with a team of experienced professionals in a supportive work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design new bridge structures and assess the structural integrity of existing bridges.
- Conduct detailed inspections and prepare comprehensive inspection reports .
- Develop repair strategies and oversee rehabilitation projects for aging bridge infrastructure.
- Utilize advanced finite element analysis software for structural modeling and load calculations.
- Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Liaise with project managers, construction teams, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Proven experience in the design, analysis, and inspection of various bridge types.
- Proficiency in bridge design software such as MIDAS Civil, LUSAS, or similar.
- Knowledge of relevant British Standards and Eurocodes pertaining to bridges.
- Experience with materials testing and condition assessment techniques.
- Strong analytical abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
