About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Bridge Engineer to join their prestigious engineering team in Edinburgh . This role is integral to the design, inspection, and maintenance of a wide range of bridge structures, ensuring their safety, longevity, and compliance with national standards. You will contribute to both new build projects and the assessment of existing structures, working collaboratively with a team of dedicated professionals. Key Responsibilities
- Design new bridge structures, including concrete, steel, and composite designs, adhering to relevant codes and standards.
- Conduct thorough inspections and assessments of existing bridges, identifying structural deficiencies and recommending repair strategies.
- Prepare detailed design calculations, drawings, and specifications for bridge projects.
- Oversee construction activities for bridge projects, ensuring quality and adherence to design intent.
- Collaborate with project managers, other engineering disciplines, and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions for bridge rehabilitation and strengthening.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline with a specialization in structural or bridge engineering.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in the design and assessment of bridge structures.
- Proficiency in bridge design software and structural analysis tools.
- Thorough understanding of bridge engineering principles, materials, and construction techniques.
- Familiarity with UK bridge design codes (e.g., DMRB) and relevant standards.
- Strong analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail.
