About the Role

Our client is seeking a talented Broadband Network Designer to contribute to the expansion of their high-speed internet services in Nottingham . This role involves the creation of detailed plans for fibre optic and broadband network deployments, ensuring efficient coverage and optimal performance. You will work closely with field teams and stakeholders to translate network requirements into practical, buildable designs. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of network infrastructure to play a key role in delivering essential connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and document broadband network infrastructure, including fibre optic cable routes, distribution points, and equipment placement.
• Create detailed network schematics, plans, and reports using specialised design software.
• Conduct feasibility studies and site assessments to inform network design decisions.
• Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to ensure designs are implemented accurately and efficiently.
• Ensure designs comply with industry standards, regulations, and company best practices.
• Update network documentation to reflect as-built conditions post-deployment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in broadband network design, particularly with fibre optic networks (FTTH/FTTP).
• Proficiency in using network design and CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, GIS tools).
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure principles, including fibre splicing, termination, and pathway design.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and technical specifications.
• Excellent spatial reasoning and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills to liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders in Nottingham .
