Business Development Manager - Fire Doors

OTE in the region of £60,000 to £90,000 per year!

ProGroup Recruitment are working exclusively with a well-established specialist contractor operating within the passive fire protection sector to recruit a Business Development Manager as part of their continued growth plans.

Our client delivers fire door, fire stopping and wider passive fire compliance projects across the UK, working with a broad range of facilities management providers, property management companies, contractors and public sector organisations. With ambitious growth plans and an expanding customer base, they are now looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Business Development Manager to help secure larger-value opportunities and develop long-term client partnerships.

Overview of the role:

This is far more than a traditional sales position.

You'll play a key role in identifying and securing new business opportunities whilst developing long-term relationships with clients across the construction and facilities management sectors. From initial introductions through to project handover, you'll remain the commercial point of contact, working closely with estimating and operational teams to deliver an exceptional customer experience and generate repeat business.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys building relationships, winning work and becoming a trusted adviser to their clients.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through proactive sales activity

• Build relationships with FM providers, property management companies, contractors, public sector organisations and commercial clients

• Win reactive projects whilst developing larger-value commercial opportunities

• Attend client meetings and site visits to understand project requirements and scope potential works

• Produce initial site reports and gather information to support the estimating process

• Work closely with Estimating and Operations to ensure a seamless transition from enquiry through to delivery

• Maintain client relationships throughout the lifecycle of projects

• Identify opportunities for repeat business and cross-selling additional services

• Support the continued commercial growth of the Fire Door division

Candidates with estimating knowledge, particularly around SOR pricing or straightforward fire door works, would be at a distinct advantage, although this is not essential.

About you

We're keen to speak with candidates who have:

• Business Development, Sales or Account Management experience within the construction or facilities management sectors

• A proven track record of winning new business and developing commercial relationships

• Experience managing customer accounts beyond the initial sale

• Strong commercial awareness with the confidence to engage with clients on site

• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills

• A proactive, resilient and self-motivated approach

• A full UK driving licence

Whilst passive fire experience would be highly advantageous, we are equally interested in candidates from adjacent construction disciplines who can demonstrate strong commercial ability and the right attitude.

Package:

• £40,000 to £50,000 basic salary with OTE in the region of £60,000 to £90,000 per year

• £400 per month car allowance + 28p per mile business mileage

• Transparent team bonus scheme with earning potential of up to circa. £90,000 per year

• Company pension

• Ongoing training and professional development

• Genuine long-term career progression

• Opportunity to help shape the future growth of an expanding business

If you're an ambitious Business Development professional looking to join a growing specialist contractor where you can genuinely influence the direction of the business, we'd love to hear from you
