Business Development Manager - Forestry & Groundcare Machinery

Know forestry or groundcare machinery and enjoy winning business? Take a specialist equipment range to customers across the UK.

We're looking for a Business Development Manager to develop UK sales for a broad range of specialist machinery, equipment and attachments.

Forestry is a major target market, alongside groundcare and other sectors where specialist mobile machinery is used.

This is a home-based, UK-wide sales role for someone who understands machinery, can talk credibly with customers and enjoys turning opportunities into orders.

The Role

You'll be responsible for growing sales across the UK, developing new customers while also building relationships with existing accounts.

You'll be:

Identifying and winning new business across the UK

Developing sales within forestry, groundcare and related markets

Building relationships with contractors, operators and equipment users

Visiting customers to understand their applications and requirements

Demonstrating machinery and recommending the right solution

Selling equipment, machinery and attachments

Preparing quotations and progressing opportunities through to order

Developing existing accounts and identifying additional opportunities

Attending exhibitions, demonstrations and industry events

Managing your own diary, pipeline and sales activity

There's a big potential market to go after, so this will suit someone who likes getting out in front of customers rather than sitting behind a laptop waiting for enquiries.

What We're Looking For

You don't need to have sold exactly the same machinery before.

You will need some relevant market knowledge, ideally gained selling machinery or equipment into forestry and/or professional groundcare.

Your background could include:

Forestry machinery or equipment

Groundcare machinery

Agricultural machinery

Compact tractors

Professional mowing or turf equipment

Arboricultural equipment

Attachments and implements

Plant or specialist mobile machinery

We're equally happy to consider someone from the smaller end of the groundcare machinery market who is ready to step up into larger, more specialist equipment.

What matters is that you understand machinery and applications, can build credibility with customers and have the commercial instinct to spot an opportunity and turn it into business.

The Opportunity

This isn't about selling from a catalogue.

Customers will have different applications and requirements, so you'll need to understand what they're trying to achieve and recommend the right equipment for the job.

You'll have the freedom to manage your own territory, backed by an established specialist engineering business with strong technical and product knowledge behind you.

For someone who knows the market, there is significant scope to develop sales across the UK.

Package

£40,000 basic salary

Bonus

Company car

Home based

UK-wide territory

If you're currently selling forestry, groundcare, agricultural or specialist machinery and fancy taking on a broader UK-wide role, we'd like to hear from you.
