We have an exciting opportunity and are inviting expressions of interest for the role of Business Development Officer , to work on the SEND reforms within the Education Service. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated professional to take a pivotal role in coordinating support to a comprehensive and person-centred business development service. Improving outcomes for children and young people by developing services within the Education Directorate and ensuring that work is progressed efficiently and within agreed timescales according to defined procedures.
You will provide research, analysis and briefings for senior leaders to support practice improvements and strategic decision making, service planning and commissioning/partnership activity.
The successful candidate will:
- Coordinate support for the development and delivery of a range of service initiatives with a particular focus on Inclusive Mainstream Practice and our Experts At Hand model.
- Support the development and delivery of service projects, strategies and policies in partnership with internal and external staff and key stakeholders, including parents, carers and children and young people.
- Develop and deliver monitoring and review arrangements for the progress of projects, strategies, policies and other initiatives against relevant action plans.
- Coordinate support to key partnerships and groups across the Directorate to ensure that they have the processes in place to ensure they are effective in meeting their objectives.
- Coordinate business processes across the Directorate, including forward planning and coordination of papers for meetings to ensure effective support is provided.
- Support the preparation and delivery of statutory inspections and external challenge and scrutiny, including collating evidence for inspection and SEND reform data submissions, liaising with inspectors, partner agencies and service users.
- Provide research, analysis and briefings for senior leaders to support practice improvements and strategic decision making, service planning and commissioning/partnership activity.
The successful candidate will bring
- Experience in supporting service development work
- Experience of supporting projects/initiatives to improve services with time and cost constraints
- Experience of producing professional reports for senior managers
- Evidence of effective research skills
- Experience applying acquired knowledge to the development and improvement of services
- Ability to work on own initiative within parameters
- Have a flexible approach
