Business Partnerships and Campaigns Manager

About Lennox

Each year, more than 1,800 children are diagnosed with cancer in the UK. Lennox Children's Cancer Fund is a lifeline to families with a child who has received that devastating diagnosis. Our supportive and close-knit team help as many children and families as possible by offering practical, financial, and emotional support to the whole family through a wide range of projects. We offer an invaluable service to families at a point when they need it the most.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our passionate and collaborative team at an important stage in our development, helping shape the future of our fundraising and corporate partnerships. There is scope for the role to grow as our income and ambitions develop.

About the Role

We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded and highly personable Business Partnerships and Campaigns Manager to grow our corporate income, develop new partnerships and take overall responsibility for the success of our three annual seasonal fundraising campaigns.

A major part of this role will be getting out there, meeting people and building relationships. You'll proactively network, attend business events, develop connections across the local and regional business community, secure meetings with potential partners and confidently present opportunities to businesses of all sizes. You'll understand what motivates businesses, including their CSR, ESG and employee engagement priorities, and turn those insights into mutually beneficial, long-term partnerships.

Alongside developing new corporate relationships and growing existing supporters, you'll identify opportunities to diversify our income through sponsorship, employee fundraising and other initiatives.

You'll also ensure that our partners and supporters understand the difference their contributions make, producing meaningful impact reports for trusts, foundations, corporate partners and major donors. Strong organisation, commercial awareness and the ability to balance relationship development with income targets and campaign deadlines will be essential.

The role will initially include line management of our Events and Campaigns Coordinator, with the opportunity for greater responsibility and team leadership as the function develops.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident, sociable and naturally engaging, with the drive to build a strong network and turn conversations into tangible results.

This role involves a significant amount of networking and relationship-building outside standard working hours. The successful candidate must be comfortable regularly attending evening networking events, corporate hospitality, fundraising events and weekend activities as part of their role. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys this aspect of business development and understands the importance of being available when opportunities to build relationships arise.

Essential Criteria

The successful person must have:

• Experience of managing a sales, fundraising or business development pipeline using a CRM to track prospects and convert opportunities into income.
• Exceptional networking and relationship-building skills, with experience of approaching new prospects, securing meetings and engaging senior decision-makers.
• Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to adapt to different audiences.
• A track record of achieving income targets, sales targets or KPIs.
• A strong commercial understanding of business priorities, decision-making and motivations for investing in charity partnerships, sponsorships and community impact.
• A driven, results-oriented approach, with a genuine enthusiasm for achieving and exceeding targets and KPIs, and the motivation to continually improve performance and maximise income generation.
• Proven experience of delivering engaging and persuasive presentations to a wide range of audiences, from large groups and company-wide teams to directors, senior management teams and employees at all levels.
• Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating campaigns or other income-generating activities against measurable objectives.
• Experience of leading, supervising or managing others, motivating them and supporting their performance.
• Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, work independently and collaborate effectively.
• Ability to produce clear, engaging and evidence-based impact reports.
• Flexibility to attend meetings, networking events, charity events and social activities outside normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Desirable Criteria

It would also be advantageous for the successful candidate to have:

• A strong background in business development, corporate partnerships or account management, with evidence of winning new business, securing partnerships and growing existing accounts.
• Experience of working within the charity or not-for-profit sector, with an understanding of charitable fundraising, income diversification and demonstrating impact.
• Experience of developing corporate partnerships, sponsorship packages, employee engagement initiatives or Charity of the Year relationships.
• A creative and commercially minded approach to income generation, with the ability to identify new opportunities, develop fresh ideas and turn them into sustainable sources of income.
• Strong writing and research skills, including experience of researching funding opportunities and contributing to complex proposals, tenders, grant applications or business cases.
• Experience of preparing partnership proposals, presenting opportunities to potential supporters and developing tailored approaches that align organisational objectives with charitable impact.

Normal office hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. However, this role requires regular evening and weekend work to attend networking events, corporate functions, fundraising activities and other events. Candidates must be comfortable with this level of flexibility, as it is a core requirement of the position. Additional hours will be managed through agreed overtime payments or time off in lieu, in line with the charity's arrangements.

Benefits

• A competitive salary
• Smart casual dress in the office
• Free on-site parking
• Company pension
• Access to a comprehensive Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
• Additional annual leave days after continued service
• Hybrid working possible
• The opportunity to shape and grow corporate partnerships and fundraising campaigns.
• The opportunity to make a tangible difference to children with cancer and their families.

If you're a confident networker, an enthusiastic relationship-builder and someone who enjoys creating opportunities and delivering results, we'd love to hear from you.
