Buyer - Indirect Materials

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Buyer specializing in Indirect Materials to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role operates on a hybrid model, allowing for a blend of remote work and on-site presence. You will be responsible for the sourcing, purchasing, and management of indirect goods and services, ensuring value for money and timely delivery. This position requires excellent negotiation skills and a strong understanding of the indirect procurement landscape to support various departments effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement lifecycle for indirect materials and services, including stationery, IT equipment, and facilities supplies.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conduct RFQs, and negotiate favourable terms and pricing.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their requirements and provide procurement solutions.
• Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procurement best practices.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, focusing on indirect spend.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management.
• Good understanding of supply chain operations and procurement principles.
• Proficiency in using purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment .
