Buyer - Indirect Spend

About the Role

Our client is looking for a capable and proactive Buyer with specific experience in managing Indirect Spend categories for their operations in Derby . This role will involve sourcing and procuring a wide range of indirect goods and services, including IT, marketing, facilities management, and professional services. You will be responsible for negotiating favorable terms, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement that supports the company's operational needs. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end procurement process for indirect categories, from requisition to payment.
• Identify and source suppliers for indirect goods and services, ensuring competitive pricing and quality.
• Conduct negotiations for contracts and framework agreements to achieve cost savings and service improvements.
• Build and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement measures to ensure contract compliance and delivery.
• Stay informed about market trends and best practices relevant to indirect procurement.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, with a focus on indirect spend.
• Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
• Excellent understanding of procurement processes and supply chain principles.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office applications.
• Good analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred.
