Buyer - Indirect Spend

About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and experienced Buyer to manage indirect spend categories for their operations based in Manchester . This role is crucial for ensuring the timely and cost-effective procurement of non-production goods and services, such as IT equipment, professional services, and facilities management. You will be responsible for supplier selection, contract management, and driving value for money across a diverse range of expenditures. The successful candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, working closely with various departments to understand their needs and procure the necessary resources efficiently, contributing to the smooth running of the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the procurement process for indirect materials and services, from requisition to order placement.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting due diligence and performance monitoring.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve cost savings and favourable contract terms.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key indirect suppliers to ensure service levels and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to define requirements and provide procurement support.
• Monitor market trends for indirect spend categories and recommend strategic sourcing opportunities.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer , with a focus on indirect procurement.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier contracts.
• Excellent understanding of the procure-to-pay process.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder and supplier engagement.
