Buyer - MRO Supplies

About the Role

Our client is looking for an organized and proactive Buyer with a focus on Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) supplies to join their procurement team in Bristol, South West England, UK . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of facilities and production lines by managing the timely and cost-effective acquisition of MRO goods. You will be responsible for identifying suppliers, negotiating prices, and maintaining appropriate stock levels. This is a hands-on position for someone dedicated to efficient supply chain management within a robust industrial setting, contributing significantly to the purchasing function.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a wide range of MRO supplies, ensuring availability and competitive pricing.
• Manage relationships with MRO suppliers, evaluating their performance and negotiating favorable terms.
• Maintain accurate inventory records for MRO items and manage stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure all procured MRO items meet the required quality and safety standards.
• Collaborate with maintenance and operational teams to understand their supply needs.

Requirements

• Experience as a Buyer , with specific knowledge of MRO supplies or industrial goods.
• Understanding of inventory management and supply chain principles.
• Good negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and common office applications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
