About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Buyer specializing in Raw Materials to join their procurement team in Leeds . This role is instrumental in securing the supply of essential raw materials needed for production, ensuring competitive pricing and consistent quality. You will manage supplier relationships, conduct negotiations, and monitor market dynamics to mitigate supply chain risks. This hybrid position offers a balance of collaborative office work and the flexibility to manage tasks remotely, contributing to a smooth and efficient operational flow.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure a range of raw materials, ensuring quality standards and timely delivery.
• Identify and vet new suppliers, building and maintaining strong, productive relationships.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with key suppliers.
• Monitor inventory levels and forecast material needs in collaboration with production planning.
• Analyze market trends and commodity prices to inform purchasing decisions and manage risks.
• Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and ethical standards.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Buyer, preferably with a focus on raw materials or manufacturing components.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Excellent understanding of supply chain operations and logistics.
• Proficiency in using procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to analyze market data and make informed purchasing recommendations.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is advantageous.
