C&I Design Engineer

C&I Design Engineer – Contract (Inside IR35) – up to £65ph – Manchester - Hybrid

About the Role

The client is seeking an experienced C&I Engineer to join its Manchester-based team, supporting a range of projects across highly regulated sectors including Life Sciences, Nuclear and Defence.

The successful candidate will work across projects in the Northwest, undertaking a broad range of Control & Instrumentation activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver complete C&I engineering packages across projects within highly regulated sectors.

• Produce and review C&I design documentation.

• Provide technical input across multidisciplinary project teams.

• Take ownership of assigned engineering packages and deliver them independently.

• Liaise with engineers, designers, clients and other project stakeholders as required.

• Support project delivery across Life Sciences, Nuclear and Defence environments.

• Attend regular client and project site visits across the Northwest.

Essential Experience & Requirements

• Significant experience delivering a full C&I package on projects within highly regulated sectors.

• Experience across the C&I project lifecycle, from feasibility through to commissioning.

• Willingness and ability to undertake regular site visits.

• Eligibility to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC).

• Functional Safety Certificate or experience needed.

Working Arrangement

• hybrid working - between 60% and 80% working from home arrangements.

• Occasional travel to client/project sites across the Northwest
