CAD Technician

CAD Technician Tamworth £40,000 - £45,000 per annum + Benefits

An established engineering company specialising in industrial process cooling, plastics automation and temperature control solutions is looking for an experienced CAD Technician / Draughtsperson to join its technical team. The business supplies equipment and engineered solutions to manufacturing and industrial customers across the UK. This position will focus on producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings, factory layouts and technical documentation to support equipment manufacturing, installation and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Produce 2D drawings and 3D CAD models using SolidWorks and AutoCAD Create factory layouts, equipment positioning plans and fabrication drawings Convert engineering sketches and site measurements into detailed technical drawings Prepare drawing packs, assembly details and bills of materials Maintain drawing revisions, document control and technical records Work closely with engineering, fabrication and project teams to support project delivery

Package: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum 37.5-hour working week, Monday to Friday 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays Additional holiday entitlement based on length of service 5% employer pension contribution Life insurance and income protection Health and wellbeing benefits Ongoing training and career progression

What You'll Need: Minimum 5 years' experience in a CAD Technician or Draughtsperson role Strong SolidWorks experience, including 3D modelling and technical drawings Experience using AutoCAD or equivalent 2D software Background producing mechanical or industrial equipment drawings Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and manufacturing details Experience producing fabrication drawings, factory layouts or assembly details Strong attention to detail and drawing control skills
