About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Provide essential personal care, adhering to individualised care plans and maintaining dignity at all times.
• Assist with feeding, hydration, and medication management as directed by the care plan and nursing staff.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and reminiscence therapy tailored to their cognitive abilities and interests.
• Monitor and record changes in residents' physical and emotional well-being, reporting concerns promptly.
• Support residents in maintaining social connections and participating in community activities.
• Ensure the environment is safe, comfortable, and conducive to the well-being of residents with dementia.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Care Assistant, particularly in dementia care, is highly valued.
• A genuine desire to care for elderly individuals and those with cognitive impairments.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with patience and empathy.
• Ability to work effectively within a team and follow care plans meticulously.
• Willingness to undertake further training, including specialised dementia care modules.
