Care Assistant (Dementia Care)

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and continence management, with patience and respect.
• Support residents with their mobility needs, using aids and equipment safely as required.
• Encourage and assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
• Engage residents in meaningful activities and social interaction to promote their cognitive and emotional well-being.
• Observe and report any changes in residents' condition or behaviour to the nursing staff or management promptly.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Care Assistant, particularly in dementia care, is highly valued.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to show empathy and understanding.
• A patient and compassionate nature, with a genuine desire to help others.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow care plans accurately.
• Willingness to undertake regular training and development relevant to dementia care.
