Care Support Assistant

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
• Support clients with domestic tasks such as light housekeeping, meal preparation, and grocery shopping.
• Administer or prompt medication as per individual care plans, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
• Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities they enjoy.
• Monitor and record vital signs and any changes in a client's condition, reporting concerns promptly to the line manager.
• Accompany clients to appointments, social outings, or community events as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Care Assistant or in a similar support role is advantageous but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient and empathetic nature.
• A strong understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding principles in a care setting.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and demonstrate reliability.
• Willingness to undertake training, including NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
• A valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle may be required for community-based roles.
