Care Support Worker - Elderly Care

About the Role

Our client is seeking a compassionate and reliable Care Support Worker to join their dynamic Community & Social Care team based in Newcastle upon Tyne . This role involves providing essential assistance to elderly individuals within their own homes, enabling them to maintain independence and dignity. You will be a key point of contact, offering both practical help and emotional support, contributing significantly to the well-being of vulnerable adults in the community. The position requires individuals who are patient, understanding, and committed to delivering high-quality person-centred care in the Tyne and Wear region.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and medication reminders.
• Provide companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in meaningful activities.
• Prepare light meals and support clients with domestic chores to maintain a clean and safe living environment.
• Accompany clients on appointments or outings as required.
• Monitor and report any changes in clients' physical or mental condition to the relevant supervisor.
• Ensure a safe and comfortable environment for clients, adhering to care plans and health and safety regulations.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a care worker or in a similar support role is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Understanding of the needs of elderly individuals and basic health and safety principles.
• Willingness to undertake necessary training and background checks.
