About the Role
Our client is seeking an ambitious and analytical Category Development Executive to support category strategy and growth initiatives for their FMCG brands, primarily working remotely with occasional travel to Bristol, South West England, UK . This role is vital in leveraging data and consumer insights to inform category plans, optimize product assortments, and support the sales team in achieving their commercial objectives. You will play a key role in understanding shopper behaviour and market dynamics to drive category performance and enhance brand presence at the retail level, contributing to a data-driven approach to category growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of category strategies that drive sales, market share, and profitability for assigned FMCG categories.
- Analyse sales data, market trends, and consumer insights to identify opportunities for category growth and promotional planning.
- Support the creation of compelling category presentations for internal stakeholders and retail partners.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide category insights and support in achieving key account objectives.
- Monitor competitor activity and market dynamics within the FMCG sector and provide regular updates.
- Help in the optimization of product assortment and promotional activities to meet shopper needs and retailer requirements in the Bristol region.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; strong academic record.
- Previous experience in an analytical or commercial role, ideally within the FMCG industry or retail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate insights clearly.
- Understanding of market data sources (e.g., Nielsen, Kantar) is a plus.
- Enthusiasm for the FMCG sector and a desire to learn and grow within a commercial environment.
