About the Role
Our client is looking for a motivated and analytical Category Development Executive to join their team in Bristol , supporting their dynamic FMCG business. This role is key to driving category growth and shopper engagement by providing critical insights and developing strategic plans that align with retailer and consumer needs. You will work closely with Category Managers and the sales team to analyse performance, identify trends, and contribute to the development of compelling category strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Category Management team in analysing category performance, market trends, and shopper behaviour using data from various sources.
- Assist in the development of category strategies, including assortment optimisation, pricing, and promotional planning.
- Prepare presentations and reports for internal stakeholders and key retail partners, highlighting insights and recommendations.
- Contribute to the development of in-store execution plans and merchandising guidelines.
- Monitor competitor activities and industry best practices within the FMCG sector .
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and supply chain, to ensure successful category initiatives in the Bristol region and beyond.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Some experience in a commercial, analytical, or marketing role, ideally within FMCG or retail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present data clearly.
- Proactive and enthusiastic attitude with a keen interest in category management and consumer insights.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work model .
