About the Role
Our client is seeking a motivated and analytical Category Development Executive to support their category management initiatives within the thriving FMCG sector. Based in our Oxford office, you will work closely with Category Managers to analyze sales data, identify market trends, and assist in the development of category strategies that drive growth and profitability. This role is crucial in ensuring our product portfolio meets consumer demands and retail partner expectations. You will be an integral part of a dynamic team, contributing to strategic decisions within a busy, collaborative office environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sales data and market insights to identify category performance trends and opportunities.
- Support the development of category plans, including assortment optimization, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
- Assist in preparing category reviews and presentations for internal stakeholders and retail partners.
- Monitor competitor activities and market dynamics to inform category strategy.
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure effective category execution.
- Maintain category databases and ensure data accuracy for reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience in category analysis, market research, or a similar role within the FMCG industry is advantageous.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in Excel.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced office setting.
- Proactive attitude and a keen interest in retail and consumer goods, with a base in Oxford .
