About the Role
Our client, a dynamic player in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a strategic and insightful Category Development Manager to drive growth in their product categories from their Belfast base. This role is instrumental in understanding consumer behaviour, market trends, and retailer needs to develop compelling category strategies that enhance brand visibility and sales. You will work closely with commercial, marketing, and insights teams to translate data into actionable plans that capture market share and build stronger category propositions within the competitive Northern Ireland FMCG market .
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse category performance, market trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and develop strategic category plans.
- Develop compelling category vision and retail execution strategies to maximise brand performance and shelf presence.
- Collaborate with the sales team to support key retailer discussions and ensure effective implementation of category plans.
- Work with insights teams to understand shopper behaviour and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
- Develop and present category reviews and strategic recommendations to internal stakeholders and key retail partners.
- Identify opportunities for new product development and assortment optimisation within assigned categories.
Requirements
- Proven experience in category management, brand management, or a commercial role within the FMCG industry .
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market share information, and shopper insights.
- Excellent understanding of category drivers, retail dynamics, and the UK grocery market.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related discipline.
