Category Insights Analyst

About the Role

Our client is looking for a data-savvy Category Insights Analyst to join their team, working remotely from Nottingham . This role is dedicated to uncovering critical insights from sales, market, and consumer data to inform category strategy and drive growth for their FMCG products. You will play a key part in translating complex data into actionable recommendations for brand and category managers. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about using data to influence business decisions in a fully remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze sales, market, and consumer data to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges within key FMCG categories.
• Develop reports and presentations summarizing key insights and providing data-driven recommendations for category strategy, ranging, and pricing.
• Collaborate with Category Managers and Brand Managers to support their strategic planning and decision-making processes.
• Utilize various data sources and analytical tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI, internal databases) to generate comprehensive insights.
• Monitor category performance against benchmarks and proactively identify factors impacting results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Statistics, Economics, or a related analytical field.
• 2-3 years of experience in data analysis, market research, or insights generation, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, Tableau, or Power BI; experience with syndicated data sources is essential.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into clear, actionable insights.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, capable of conveying findings effectively in a remote setting.
