Category Manager - FMCG

About the Role

Our client, a prominent force in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking an experienced Category Manager to oversee a key product category from their Bradford location. This strategic role involves managing the entire lifecycle of a product category, from assortment planning and supplier negotiations to pricing strategies and promotional execution. You will be responsible for driving category growth, profitability, and market share by leveraging consumer insights and market trends. This is a critical position requiring a blend of analytical prowess, commercial acumen, and strategic thinking within the FMCG landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies to maximize sales, profitability, and market share.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, competitor activities, and consumer behavior to identify growth opportunities.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure product availability and quality.
• Plan and execute effective pricing and promotional strategies for the assigned category.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of category plans.
• Monitor category performance against KPIs and provide regular reports with actionable insights to senior leadership.

Requirements

• Significant experience in Category Management or a similar commercial role, preferably within the FMCG industry.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute successful category strategies that drive significant business growth.
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in managing supplier relationships.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a keen understanding of financial metrics.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and category management software.
