About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Category Manager - Indirect Spend to join their strategic procurement team in Norwich . This vital role involves developing and executing sourcing strategies for non-direct goods and services, such as IT, HR, marketing, and facilities. You will be responsible for managing key supplier relationships, driving cost efficiencies, and ensuring the highest standards of service delivery across your categories. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement category strategies for indirect spend areas to achieve cost savings and value.
• Lead sourcing events, including RFx processes, negotiations, and contract awards.
• Manage and develop relationships with key suppliers within indirect categories.
• Analyse spend data and market intelligence to identify sourcing opportunities and risks.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand needs and align strategies.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and legal requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience (5+ years) as a Category Manager or in a senior procurement role focused on indirect spend.
• Demonstrated success in strategic sourcing, negotiation, and contract management.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
• Excellent understanding of procurement best practices and supply chain management.
• Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Experience working within an office-based environment in Norwich .
