Category Manager - Indirect Spend

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Category Manager to oversee indirect spend categories from their Belfast office. This strategic role requires expertise in developing and implementing category strategies that drive value, manage risk, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. You will be responsible for a diverse portfolio of non-operational goods and services, working collaboratively across departments to achieve optimal procurement outcomes. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies for indirect spend areas such as IT, facilities, and professional services.
• Lead sourcing events, including RFPs, RFQs, and contract negotiations with key suppliers.
• Manage supplier relationships, monitor performance, and conduct regular business reviews.
• Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives and value-enhancement opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and ensure procurement solutions meet requirements.
• Stay abreast of market trends, supplier innovations, and regulatory changes impacting indirect procurement.

Requirements

• Significant experience in category management or strategic sourcing, specifically within indirect spend.
• Proven track record of successfully managing complex procurement projects and supplier negotiations.
• Strong analytical skills and experience with spend analysis tools.
• Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management abilities.
• Familiarity with contract law and risk management principles.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
