About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Category Manager to oversee a key product category within the competitive FMCG market. Based in Bradford , this role is integral to driving category growth, optimizing product assortments, and maximizing profitability. You will be responsible for understanding market dynamics, consumer preferences, and competitive landscapes to develop and implement winning category strategies. This position requires a deep understanding of retail operations and strong commercial acumen to build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, ensuring our client's brands achieve optimal shelf presence and sales performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with overall business objectives for the FMCG sector.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Manage product assortments, pricing, promotions, and placement to maximize sales and profitability.
- Collaborate closely with the sales, marketing, and procurement teams to ensure effective implementation of category plans.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, understanding their needs and driving mutual growth.
- Monitor category performance against KPIs and provide regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management or brand management, preferably within FMCG retail.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing successful category strategies.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
