About the Role
Our client is seeking a strategic and analytical Category Manager to lead the development and performance of key product categories within their FMCG business, based in Brighton . This role requires a deep understanding of market trends, consumer insights, and competitive landscapes to drive category growth, optimize product assortment, and enhance profitability. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and supply chain, to deliver category strategies that meet consumer needs and achieve business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen and a passion for driving success in the dynamic FMCG market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement category strategies to drive sales volume, market share, and profitability.
- Analyze category performance, market trends, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities.
- Manage product assortment, pricing, and promotional activities within assigned categories.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop and execute category-specific marketing plans.
- Work with supply chain and operations to ensure optimal product availability and inventory levels.
- Build strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders to drive category success.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in category management, brand management, or a similar role within the FMCG sector .
- Proven ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
- Excellent understanding of the retail and consumer goods market.
- Proficiency in category management software and MS Office Suite.
