About the Role
Our client is seeking a creative and meticulous Catering Event Planner to join their team in Derby . This role involves conceptualising, planning, and executing a wide range of catering events, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for clients and their guests. You will work closely with clients to understand their vision, develop bespoke menus, manage budgets, and coordinate all logistical aspects from start to finish. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, highly organised, and possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to thrive in a client-facing role within the vibrant Derbyshire event scene.
Key Responsibilities
- Consult with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and budget.
- Design customised menus and beverage selections tailored to event themes and client needs.
- Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, staffing needs, and vendor coordination.
- Manage event budgets effectively, ensuring profitability while meeting client expectations.
- Oversee on-site event execution, ensuring smooth service delivery and addressing any issues that arise.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and internal catering teams.
Requirements
- Previous experience as an Event Planner or in a similar role within the catering or hospitality industry.
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation abilities.
- Creative flair and a passion for food and event design.
- Ability to manage budgets and understand financial aspects of event planning.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as required for events in Derby .
