Charity Finance Manager

About the Role

Our client, a well-established charity organization based in Liverpool, Merseyside, UK , is seeking a qualified and experienced Charity Finance Manager . This pivotal role involves overseeing all financial aspects of the organization, ensuring robust financial management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic financial advice to the board and senior management. You will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, accounting, and reporting, playing a crucial role in the financial sustainability and effective operation of the charitable services . The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, with specific experience within the non-profit sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the charity's accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger.
• Develop and manage the annual budget process, providing financial forecasts and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements and reports for internal stakeholders, the board, and external regulators.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations, charity law, and reporting standards.
• Oversee internal controls and risk management processes to safeguard the charity's assets.

Requirements

• Qualified Accountant (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent professional experience.
• Proven experience as a Finance Manager , preferably within the charity sector .
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting, management accounting, and financial reporting standards.
• Experience with charity accounting regulations and SORP.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage complex financial data.
