Love being a chef, but ready for a better work-life balance?
We’re looking for an experienced Chef to join our team at Yeovil College. This is a great opportunity to keep doing what you enjoy – cooking, creating menus and working in a busy kitchen – while enjoying the benefits of working in an education setting.
You’ll lead the day-to-day running of our kitchen and catering outlets, from menu planning and food preparation through to events and functions. You’ll also have the chance to share your experience with our learners, helping them build the practical skills and confidence they need to start their own careers in the industry.
The best bit? There’s no regular weekend working, so you can enjoy your time outside of work without giving up the career you love. There will be a monthly evening restaurant event and occasional evening functions, but these are planned as part of the role.
Why Yeovil College?
No regular weekend working – enjoy more time outside of the kitchen.
Keep doing what you love – cooking, developing menus and producing great food.
Share your experience – help learners develop real industry skills in a working kitchen.
Get creative – we’re developing our menus, events and commercial catering offer.
New facilities coming in August 2027 – our new Professional Cookery facilities will give you a fantastic space to work and support our learners.
A different pace of life – use your industry experience in a role that gives you more balance.
What we are looking for:
Someone with professional kitchen experience, great food skills and a genuine passion for sharing their knowledge. You don’t need teaching experience – if you know your trade and enjoy helping others learn, we can support you with the rest.
Applying is easy. Attach your CV or simply tell us a little about yourself and we’ll give you a call to chat about the role
