Chemical Engineer - New Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and innovative Chemical Engineer to join their New Product Development team in Nottingham . This role is central to bringing novel chemical products from conception through to commercial reality. You will be involved in process design, pilot trials, and the initial scale-up phases, working collaboratively with research, marketing, and manufacturing departments. Key Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into feasible chemical process designs.
• Develop and conduct laboratory and pilot-scale experiments to validate process concepts.
• Design and specify equipment for new process implementation and scale-up.
• Collaborate with R&D scientists and external partners to overcome technical challenges.
• Prepare technical documentation, including process flow diagrams and operating procedures.
• Support the manufacturing team during initial production runs and process optimization.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in process development or new product introduction.
• Understanding of process design principles, scale-up considerations, and safety assessments.
• Experience with laboratory and pilot plant operations is highly beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent team player with effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
