Chemical Engineer - New Product Development

About the Role

Our client seeks an innovative Chemical Engineer to join their New Product Development team, offering a fully remote position to support their operations near Cambridge . This role is dedicated to the conception, design, and scale-up of novel chemical products and processes. You will work at the forefront of technological advancement, translating laboratory discoveries into commercially viable solutions. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, and possesses excellent collaboration skills to work effectively within a virtual R&D environment. You will be instrumental in driving the company's product pipeline forward, contributing to exciting breakthroughs in the chemical industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of new chemical products and processes from bench-scale through pilot and commercial stages.
• Design and conduct experiments to optimize reaction parameters, yields, and product characteristics.
• Perform process simulations and feasibility studies for new product introductions.
• Develop detailed process documentation, including P&IDs, operating procedures, and safety assessments.
• Collaborate closely with R&D scientists, project managers, and manufacturing teams in a remote setting .
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges encountered during product development and scale-up.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in new product development, process scale-up, and commercialization.
• Expertise in reaction engineering, separation technologies, and process design.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on innovation.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus) and statistical analysis tools.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for remote teamwork.
