Chemical Engineer - New Product Introduction

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Engineer to join their New Product Introduction (NPI) team in Nottingham . This hybrid role focuses on translating laboratory innovations into viable, scalable manufacturing processes. You will work closely with R&D chemists and operations teams to ensure smooth scale-up and commercialization of new chemical products. This position requires a blend of technical acumen, problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration, utilizing both on-site presence and remote communication tools to drive success.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the scale-up of new chemical products from lab to pilot and commercial scale.
• Develop process documentation, including batch records, SOPs, and P&IDs for new products.
• Conduct risk assessments and HAZOP studies for new process introductions.
• Troubleshoot and optimize processes during the NPI phase to ensure consistent quality and yield.
• Collaborate with R&D, manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chain teams.
• Ensure all NPI activities comply with regulatory requirements and company standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support.
• Familiarity with new product introduction processes and challenges.
• Understanding of cGMP principles and validation is a significant advantage.
• Experience in a hybrid work environment with strong virtual collaboration skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
