Chemical Engineer - Optimisation Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with a specialization in process optimisation to join their established team in Portsmouth . This role is dedicated to enhancing the efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness of existing chemical manufacturing processes. You will be instrumental in identifying bottlenecks, implementing data-driven improvements, and ensuring that operations run at peak performance. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing chemical processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, yield, and sustainability.
• Implement and monitor process changes, using statistical methods to evaluate impact.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including operating procedures and P&IDs.
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to troubleshoot operational issues.
• Conduct process safety reviews and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
• Research and recommend new technologies or methodologies to enhance process performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process engineering, with a focus on optimisation .
• Proven experience with process analysis techniques and statistical process control (SPC).
• Strong understanding of chemical plant operations and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively within a team.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and environmental compliance.
