Chemical Engineer - Petrochemical Projects

About the Role

Our client, a major player in the petrochemical sector, is seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer to contribute to significant capital projects in Manchester . This role involves the technical oversight and execution of complex petrochemical plant designs and modifications, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and performance standards. You will be a key part of the project lifecycle, from conceptualization through to completion, working with a dedicated project management and engineering team to deliver world-class facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert chemical engineering input for the design, specification, and construction of new petrochemical facilities and equipment.
• Ensure all process designs comply with relevant industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Review and approve vendor technical documentation, process design packages, and commissioning plans.
• Collaborate with project managers, discipline engineers, and contractors to ensure project objectives are met on time and within budget.
• Conduct process safety reviews, risk assessments, and operability studies for project designs.
• Support the commissioning and start-up phases, ensuring safe and efficient handover to operations.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering with a strong academic record.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in petrochemical project engineering or process design.
• Demonstrated experience with process design software and project management methodologies.
• In-depth knowledge of petrochemical processes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.
• Proven ability to manage technical aspects of large-scale engineering projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills required for the Manchester project environment.
