Senior Process Safety Engineer - Chemical Plants

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Process Safety Engineer to enhance safety protocols across their chemical manufacturing facilities in the Manchester area. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain Process Safety Management (PSM) programs in accordance with industry standards and regulations.
• Conduct thorough Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs), including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA studies.
• Oversee incident investigations, root cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and deliver process safety training to operational and engineering staff.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and manage safety documentation and audits.
• Advise on process safety aspects for new projects, modifications, and management of change (MOC) processes.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of experience in process safety engineering , specifically within the chemical or petrochemical industry.
• In-depth knowledge of PHA methodologies and PSM regulations (e.g., OSHA 29 CFR ).
• Experience with risk assessment tools and safety software.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of safety instrumented systems (SIS) and mechanical integrity programs.
