About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Chemical Engineer to provide crucial operational support for their manufacturing facility in Portsmouth . This role is vital for ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of chemical production units. You will be involved in troubleshooting plant issues, optimizing existing processes, and implementing improvements to enhance performance and reliability. Working closely with plant operators and maintenance teams, you will gain invaluable hands-on experience in a challenging and rewarding industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor plant performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Respond to and troubleshoot operational upsets, equipment failures, and quality deviations.
- Conduct root cause analyses for process issues and implement corrective and preventative actions.
- Assist in the implementation of process modifications and upgrades, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
Requirements
- BEng or BSc in Chemical Engineering .
- 2-4 years of experience in chemical plant operations or process engineering.
- Solid understanding of chemical process principles and unit operations.
- Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with operational staff.
