Chemical Engineer - Process Development

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Development to join their state-of-the-art facility in Milton Keynes . This role is essential for driving innovation by translating laboratory discoveries into viable, large-scale manufacturing processes. You will be at the forefront of developing new chemical synthesis routes and optimizing existing production methods, working closely with research scientists and production teams. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development and optimization of chemical processes for new product introductions.
• Conduct pilot plant trials to validate process designs and gather critical scale-up data.
• Prepare detailed process documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and operating procedures.
• Perform techno-economic assessments to evaluate the viability of new chemical processes.
• Collaborate with R&D teams to ensure a seamless transition from research to manufacturing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex process issues encountered during development and scale-up.

Requirements

• Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
• Solid experience in process development, scale-up, and technology transfer within the chemical industry.
• Proficiency in chemical process modeling and simulation software.
• Strong understanding of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation technologies.
• Experience with pilot plant operations and scale-up methodologies.
• Excellent analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem-solving.
