Chemical Engineer - Process Optimization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive Chemical Engineer with a focus on Process Optimization to join their established operations in Sunderland . This role is integral to enhancing the efficiency, yield, and sustainability of our manufacturing processes. You will work on-site, closely with plant engineers and operators, to identify areas for improvement, implement innovative solutions, and ensure the smooth running of complex chemical operations. Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing chemical processes to identify opportunities for optimization in terms of efficiency, cost reduction, and environmental impact.
• Develop and implement process improvements, including modifications to equipment, operating procedures, and control strategies.
• Conduct performance testing and data analysis to validate process changes and measure their effectiveness.
• Collaborate with the R&D department on the scale-up and implementation of new products or process technologies.
• Provide technical support to the production team, troubleshooting process deviations and ensuring operational stability.
• Ensure all process modifications comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
• 2-5 years of experience in a process engineering or manufacturing role within the chemical industry.
• Proven ability to analyze process data and implement effective optimization strategies.
• Familiarity with process control systems and instrumentation.
• Strong understanding of chemical plant operations and safety protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
