Our client is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Remote Chemical Engineer specializing in Process Optimization to join their team, supporting operations remotely from anywhere in the UK. This role focuses on analyzing and enhancing the efficiency, safety, and sustainability of chemical processes across various sites without requiring on-site presence for routine tasks. You will leverage advanced simulation tools, data analytics, and your extensive engineering knowledge to provide strategic insights and actionable recommendations, contributing to the operational excellence of a leading chemical company, working within a fully remote-first culture that values autonomy and results.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of plant operational data to identify areas for process improvement.
- Develop and implement advanced control strategies to optimize process performance and product quality.
- Utilize process simulation and modeling software to test and validate optimization scenarios.
- Provide remote technical support and troubleshooting for process-related issues.
- Create detailed reports and present findings and recommendations to management and site teams.
- Stay abreast of new technologies and methodologies in chemical process optimization and sustainability.
Requirements
- MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in process engineering, with a strong focus on optimization and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency with process simulation software and data analysis tools (e.g., Python, MATLAB).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a remote setting.
- Excellent understanding of chemical kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation processes.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
