Chemical Engineer - Process Simulation & Modeling

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Chemical Engineer with expertise in process simulation and modeling to join their advanced technology division in Oxford . This role is critical for optimizing existing chemical processes and designing new ones by leveraging sophisticated computational tools. You will work closely with R&D and operational teams to develop accurate models, predict process performance, and identify key areas for efficiency improvements and cost reduction. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and maintain dynamic and steady-state process models using industry-standard simulation software.
• Conduct sensitivity analyses and optimization studies to improve process efficiency, yield, and safety.
• Apply computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and other advanced modeling techniques where applicable.
• Collaborate with process design and operations teams to implement simulation-based recommendations.
• Generate comprehensive reports detailing modeling methodologies, results, and conclusions.
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in process simulation software and techniques.

Requirements

• BSc or MSc in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field.
• 3-5 years of experience in process simulation and modeling.
• Proficiency with simulation software such as Aspen Plus, HYSYS, COMSOL, or similar.
• Strong understanding of chemical thermodynamics, kinetics, and transport phenomena.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills to effectively present complex technical information.
