About the Role
Our client is actively seeking a talented Chemical Process Design Engineer to join their expanding engineering team in Oxford . This role is integral to the conceptualization and detailed design of new chemical plants and process modifications. You will be responsible for developing process flow diagrams, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and ensuring designs meet safety, efficiency, and environmental standards. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to challenging projects and work within a highly respected engineering consultancy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs for chemical processes and facilities.
- Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment datasheets.
- Perform mass and energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and process simulations.
- Ensure designs comply with all relevant codes, standards, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with other engineering disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil) and project stakeholders.
- Provide technical support during the procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical process design , preferably in consultancy or EPC environments.
- Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, ChemCAD) and CAD tools.
- Strong understanding of chemical thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and reaction engineering.
- Knowledge of safety design principles and environmental considerations.
- Excellent problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
